The Westbrook Media Center project was not conceived as a simple aesthetic improvement. While the media center will get new carpeting, paint and shelving, it is the careful selection of adaptive new furniture and a maker space area that will enhance instruction and inclusion for all learners.
We have been incredibly fortunate to benefit from the expertise and guidance of MCPS design and instructional leaders. MCPS UDL experts as well as the MCPS Supervisor of School Media Programs have all worked closely with our team to design a robust, flexible and accommodating instructional space. The implementation of Universal Design for Learning concepts in the Media Center will have an exciting impact on instruction next year.
The entire cost of this project is being underwritten by the Friends of Westbrook School Foundation (FOWS).
